My History

I lived the first 23 years of my life in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I spent my childhood reading and dreaming about far away lands and grand adventures – convincing myself that these were simply dreams, and something far from my reach.

After finishing college I knew that my life had to change. I was a miserable, dark person and I couldn’t stand to even be in my own company. So I made a move. I left my family and my home to work for the summer on Mackinac Island. Being on the island taught me that I am stronger than I could have ever imagined and it introduced me to plenty of people that were living my dream – they were from those far away lands that I had once imagined.

Once the summer was done I knew I could not go back home. My life was bigger than what would fit in my small home town. I accepted a job at a ski resort in Park City Utah. It was my first time leaving the state of Michigan, my first time being on an airplane, and the first time that I was excited for what my future held for me.

I met my soul mate in Park City. He was different from anyone else I had ever met in my life. He knew how to live a life and he knew how to pursue a girl that was scared of commitment. We dated for a few months and when the Spring arrived he asked me if I wanted to go to Cape Cod Massachusetts with him for the summer. I thought it over for about 45 minutes until I agreed to go with him. In my heart I knew it was the right thing to do. After making the two week long road trip from Las Vegas Nevada to the East Coast I knew that he was the one, there would be no others after him.

We were married that summer and I have never looked back, I can only look to the future and feel as excited as a child the night before Christmas. This blog will be detailing the adventures that we take, with a focus on food.
